Where can I get my EIN if I run a small business?

Asked 2 years ago

I want to start a small business in the retail industry, but I’m not sure how to go about ensuring that I do things accordingly. I know I have to get an employer identification number (EIN) to register my business, but I don’t actually know where small business owners have to apply for one. Can someone please assist? Thank you.

If your principal business is located in the United States or its territories, you must submit an online application for an EIN with the Internal Revenue Service. The applicant must have a valid Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) - either an SSN, ITIN, or EIN.
