I'd like to implement a system in my HR department that will help ensure that payroll is handled correctly and that compliance issues are avoided. I want to invest in software that will reduce issues that might affect my business's ability to operate well. Would integrating an HRIS system aid in avoiding penalties for noncompliance and incorrect deduction calculations?

Generally, payroll software is already equipped with compliance monitoring capabilities, ensuring you follow all applicable federal, state, local, and even international payroll laws. However, there may be compliance issues not covered by your payroll software, such as benefits eligibility or reporting for FMLA. An HRIS may be beneficial in ensuring compliance with non-payroll issues.
