How does HRIS software assist in payroll processing?

I’m considering integrating a human resources information system (HRIS) into the business for my HR department, but I’m not sure how it would fit with the current payroll system or assist with payroll functions. My team is managing without one, but I don't want to miss the opportunity to streamline some processes and save time and resources.

Most payroll software offers the ability to integrate with your HRIS. Information such as new employee data, timesheets, or PTO balance data will transfer from the HRIS to your payroll software. However, some HRIS programs offer all-in-one packages, which include payroll, so you may end up paying for more than you need.
